Activities

Even though Curaçao is mostly famous for its beaches and vibrant underwater life, there is a lot more than laying on the beach and diving that you can do.

The following list contains the top 5 things you need to do when coming to Curaçao. Obviously there is so much more which is why we will update this list over time and will add new activities.

Visiting Willemstad

Willemstad Willemstad is the capital of Curaçao. It is famous for its colorful houses right at the harbour entrance of the Anna Bay.
Right in the center of Willemstad is the floating Koningin Emmabrug, a small brigde for pedestrians is connection the two, by the harbour seperated parts, of Willemstad with each other. This bridge is a must see because it is build on boats. That way, if boats entering the harbour the small bridge can move aside so the bigger ships can pass.

Hiking and Snorkeling to the Saba Wreck

Willemstad The wreck of the saba lies at a depth of 5m upright between coral fields. Divers can reach this wreck only by boat because there is no road going here, but it is possible to hike here and then go snorkeling.
Park your car at the last roundabout in Jan Thiel and start walking parallel to the shore westwards on the small hikings trails. A bit further after passing the entrance of the Jan Thiel Saltlake, is a small beach, perfect for entering the water.
From the beach swim out close to the drop-off and follow the reef a bit to the left where you should find the small wreck.

Climb the Christoffelberg

Willemstad The Christoffelberg lies in the west of Curaçao in the Christoffelpark. If you want to go hiking here you need to pay a small entrance fee. After that you are allowed to hike the whole day in the park.
Especially in the morning before the sun comes up or late in the afternoon the Christoffelberg is worth a trip. It only takes 1 hour to reach the top, and from up there you have a absolutly astonishing view over Curaçao.
Make sure to bring some closed shoes because the last part to the top is a bit of a climb.
